First, a quick note:
I generally don't like to talk about pricing...but the way the economy is right
now...

It is likely that this is your first time hunting down pricing for a
DJ...It's also likely, like everyone else, you're "working off a budget."
As you have been bumpin' around the Internet, looking for DJ pricing, it is well
likely that you may have discovered a
distinct commonality between us all:
Just like that Realtor Industry cliché' of including pictures of themselves with their business cards and bus bench advertising, members of the DJ community find it difficult to include their pricing for the world to see.
As you can
see below, I have no problem with this.
I can tell you right now...If you're looking
for what most people seem to consider "bargain basement" DJ rates, you
will likely NOT find them here (although I can safely say that I'm
DEFINITELY NOT the most expensive around either...I charge right
at the National average). My clients generally don't hire me for
my competitive pricing...I'm
hired mostly via referral; by those who have seen me in action at a friend or
relative's event, or in an on-line video, and/or have heard about my almost anal
knack for detail to planning.

PLUS, I refuse to do what some
other DJ companies resort to doing because of this highly topsy-turvy market (and
economy): "HOOK" you with a ridiculously low, seemingly LLLLOW come-on price that's
meant only to get you in the door. This tactic merely exhibits a sign of panic.
Think about it...Who would feel the need to win you over with their rates?
Wouldn't you think it would be those who 'd be lacking in something else?
Not me. I always start by recommending
the package that's best suited for you based upon listening to your
dreams and desires...AFTER THEN, I've been known to work with the
pricing.
If you are not familiar with me or my service, it is likely you will not feel comfortable investing
any amount I ask for.
CASE IN POINT: Would you hire me if I offered my services
for...say...$100 for the entire affair ($1100 UNDER the National average)?
... or how about one dollar?
CUSTOMARY Professional DJ rates are based upon experience, longevity, maturity, education, talent stature
and ... professionalism ... within their area.
Your wedding day is the ONE DAY when
you want to "get it right".

And, for me, as "icing on the cake", you can also include utilization of the finest state-of-the-art professional DJ equipment, music, programming and materials into the basket.
I wouldn't want to ruin your wedding day any more than you would, but I also wouldn't want you to regret underestimating the value of your DJ for this VERY special occasion.
My client usually hires me after doing their homework...one who makes the time to do their due diligence and research.
They've enjoyed my philosophy, and were sufficiently impressed with my
references / testimonials.

You may find that selecting a DJ is different than selecting any other vendor for your celebration; The MC / DJ / Entertainer is responsible for making sure that your event is engaging, fun and memorable for you and your guests. Because of this, you are entitled to feel confident that this person is going to meet your expectations both professionally and personally...a kind of assurance and confidence that can only be conveyed in person.
